American Stock Exchange
We managed the implementation of an annual budget of US$400 million
with direct control of US$3 million. This project reduced annual IT costs by 25%.
Management wanted to reduce costs and improve operational effectiveness. We advised on evaluating operations and creating a series of road maps to direct teams towards implementing improved IT infrastructure service delivery and processes.
Systems were reviewed to provide a pathway towards Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA) to support business directions and strategies.
For executive and operational areas, developmental plans were provided to bring about web-based reporting incorporating systems for querying and research in areas such as trading patterns, money laundering analysis and modelling of processes.
We undertook studies and implementation of process re-engineering that produced improved prioritisation of projects by using better tools, information systems and management techniques.
We were a key architect of risk management and disaster recovery processes, implementation, testing including the actual setup and operation of second trading floor and these systems were tested successfully through 9/11 World trade Center event.
We also worked with the exchange on a project that pioneered the feasibility and use of hand held devices for use by securities traders and to facilitate ‘cluster’ trading in different sectors and assets. This was a key area of innovation and contributed to the competitive position of the exchange and a significant improvement in the speed, reaction time and business capacity of traders.
